Hi, this is an overview of the HK416D145RS or the 22LR replica of the HK416 rifle.
This rifle is made by Walther and imported into the US via UMAREX USA. The rifle will be stamped with the HK trademarks but on the right side of the receiver will be the Walther/UMAREX marks.

If any of you think you can buy this rifle and fit it with standard AR-15 or HK416 internals - forget it. The rifle only has the appearance of the HK416 but none of the internals are common except for a few external cosmetic areas.
UMAREX does not state that the lower receiver is made from 7075 T6 aluminum and even if you successfully swap the interior of the lower receiver, it might fail because of the stress. So save yourself a lot of trouble and don't even try this.
Fit and Finish:
The overall fit and finish of the rifle is top notch in matt black.
The rifle seems to be coated in Duracoat/Guncoat or some other type of epoxy finish. It is very tough but also smooth. This finish covers the lower and entire upper receiver except for the gas tube (fake) and the barrel.
The finish is NOT adonization of any kind which is typical on most AR rifles.

is it difficult to remove the flash hider from the rifle? i tried to do that by twisting it counter-clockwise with my hand and no luck. although i didnt try it with full force as i am afraid to break something...
any help would be appreciated,

Hey sorry, I didn't see this earlier. Yes, simply use the left to loosen and right to tighten rule. You will find that the thread pitch on the rifle requires that you buy an adapter to make it compatible with regular 5.56 NATO flash hiders which use the 1/2 28 thread pitch. You CANNOT put a normal flash hider on the HK 416 22LR without the adapter. If you need one and can't find one, I have a spare one. The pitch converter for the threading is about $25.

ReplyDeleteIt's a slightly undersized mil-spec tube. I have the mil-spec magpul ctr stock on mine and it wobbles slightly when locked down. Not an issue for me since I'm used to the moe.
DeleteI am trying to take off the buttstock for the HK 416D .22. I want to put the Magpul CTR on but cant figure out how to remove the stock can you please help me! Thanks a million!
ReplyDeleteI'm assuming you have probably already figured it out but, the tab you depress to adjust it on the buffer tube can be depressed even further, once its as far as it can go you can slide it off.
DeleteAny idea if there are key mod hand guards that will fit the 416? I got ahold of a walther/colt stripped upper, swapped internals, and put on a walther/colt 13" quad rail just so I could have something different. Any experience with the colt version, know of anything that will fit that upper that's 3rd party?
